Choosing the Best Pump Temperature Mounting Location

The pump temperature sensor needs to be mounted temperature the bolts that are the closest to the pump housing to get the most accurate temperature reading from the pump.

This example shows an incorrect mounting of the pump temperature sensor on an Ingersoll Rand model 2545 single piston air compressor. Mounting the temperature sensor too far away from the pump will cause inaccurate temperature readings and can extend warmup time and prevent the Compressor Control Box from detecting potential pump overheating (Error Code 03)

This is a side view picture of a similar type of compressor pump showing correct mounting locations for the pump temperature sensor.
